The Lord of the Rings Minecraft Mod Wiki

Alright, I do realise that it hasn't been exactly a week since I posted the last blog post (it's been closer to two weeks, TBH). However, that's fine. I will feature a biome this week that most of you have probably never been to (in fact, I hadn't been here until I had written this post). That biome is the Tundra.

Where is it?[]

The tundra is the border between the Lands of the West and the harsh icy wasteland of Forodwaith to the north. It is quite narrow though, and rarely exceeds 1000 blocks in width. In some places, it's bordered by the Taiga on the southern flank.

What do you like about this biome?[]

The best part about this biome is its openness, and the fact that it is never invaded by any other factions. It's also got copious quantities of ice available, for those who want it. The tundra is also home to one of the mod's Easter Eggs, namely Gruk's House. And, I also like it because it offers one last chance to stock up on meat from the wild game before heading into the icy lands of Forodwaith, and then into Utumno. Even better is the fact that you don't take frost damage in this biome.

Any advice for travellers?[]

While this biome isn't very populated, that doesn't mean that this biome is completely empty. Elk, Deer, and Wolves spawn here quite often, and creatures allied with Gundabad can be found here at night, although their chieftains haven't set up any camps here, likely because it's too cold for their liking. And there might be occasional bandits. Therefore, good players will want to be careful here at night, and evil players will need to do some travelling if they want to hire an army.
