So a while back I began building all kinds of builds in the official server and realised as the faction grew that I had a sneaking sense of dread related to the possibility of people breaking blocks in faction builds (or any build really).
We recently had an encounter with a faction member who placed blocks and broke the ceiling of a hallway in one of our faction builds which took some time to repair. This encounter has reignited my desire to put this suggestion forward into the public sphere.
There should be an option on banners that can be toggled on/off (or multiple options that can be toggled on/off) so that people can interact with items inside the banner's radius (chests, item frames, forges, beds, doors, gates, bookshelves, etc) but at the same time they can not break/place blocks at all. It could all be simplified to: Interact with blocks, possible. Break/place blocks, impossible.
I can not tell you how many builders would breathe with a sigh of relief if this option was added for banners, faction builds would remain very secure if this was added. People would be able to build without the fear of people breaking small details on the build.
This is especially important to me right know as I am currently planning on expanding the city I am working on, these extensions will include intricate details that people might not even know are hand made so they might break. Or worse, they might break it and I'll never know about it since the city is so big. Having this banner option would quench any fears I would have, and would do the same for any and all builders out there. Thank you.
