  • I have a short and sweet suggestion. I think Dalish crackers should be craftable. These craftable crackers would not give random items, but contain none at all. Crafting gunpowder with a bunch of paper and a dye would give a bunch of 'unsealed Dalish crackers', similar to unbaked mugs.

Upon right-clicking an unsealed cracker a GUI would open up, with three slots in which items can be placed. Upon clicking a button in the GUI (like signing a book) the cracker would become a sealed, normal Dalish cracker. It is then ready to pull open, with a bang!

With this suggestion implemented one would be able to put jokes, hooch, and jewelry inside crackers to give to your friends at parties. What fun.

If he basically confirmed that it will happen, he will add it in the next update, unless it's a more difficult feature. He doesn't keep multiple mod versions lined up for release.

Ideas for items to put inside crackers:

Rings. Dwarven and Hobbit marriage rings, gold, silver and mithril rings.

A Tauredain amulet, for those few lucky people at the party.

Hats! Dyed vanilla leather hats, dyed hats with feathers, Near Harad Warlord helmets, Rohirrim Marshal helmets, Gundabat Uruk helmets, jack o'lanterns, etc.

      Fireworks!

Flowers. There are so many flowers.

Exploding termites. More bang for your buck.

Minature christmas trees! Also known as ferns.

Tasty snacks! A succulent surprise. Marchpane, cookies, roast chestnuts, cram etc. Kebab is of course out of the question.

Alcohol. A bottle of vodka, kvass, or cherry liquor to enjoy the Christmas festivities.

A mystery web. Double the mystery, double the fun.

Small pouches. Make sure to make them colourful.

      A rolling pin. Don't ask.

Jokes! Scrape together your most horrible, most unoriginal jokes and write them in books. Now put the books in crackers, hide somewhere, and ignore the screams. On hindsight, it may be a little inhumane.

Pretty rocks. A piece of edhelmir, durnaur, gulduril, diamond, emerald, glowstone, redstone, etc.

Matches. Useful for setting empty Christmas stockings on fire. Sometimes Santa can really just be discriminatory towards evil people.

Hobbit pipes and pipeweed! Make sure to label them with 'Danger, may cause lung cancer'.

Sling and pebbles. A good toy.

      • Then, I wrote my 3rd post. #15
      • If I remember right, the thread had already 9 kudos by then.
      • After that, I highlighted the thread, because it was a good idea (in my opinion) and I wanted other users to know.
      • After the thread had enough kudos, War Pig1237 added the [endorsed] tag and moved it to the appropriate thread. After #16
      • After that, Mevans posted the pictures, hinting that he's implementing the suggestion. #20

Check the history for that. Probably, the highlighting had some influence, but I didn't bring Mevans here (already there). Also, I think the thread would have gotten a lot of kudos without highlighting as well.

Or do you think, I made a mistake there and manipulated people in giving kudos to a thread, that it didn't deserve?

ya think? you do realize that most highlighted suggestions get around twice as much if not more kudos than other suggestions on average, it is an unfair advantage over other suggestions so if you are going to highlight it do it after it is a happening (and perhaps add a hapening tag instead of or perhaps in addition to the endorsed one)

Highlighting my suggestion didn't give this thread an 'unfair advantage' because I don't believe the number of kudos was particularly relevant to Mevans implementing it.

I agree, it's definitively an advantage. Highlight -> more views -> more possible kudos -> more kudos given. But the suggestion has 61 kudos by now. Make it 2/3 due to the highlighting, so it's still 20 "true" kudos for it.

I can't make it undone now, but I learned from this, to act like you propose: Wait for a suggestion to get endorsed and highlight it then.

Yes, I decided to implement it just because I thought it was a really nice and fun idea. (And because almost everything planned for the update was finished.) The amount of kudos played no part, and it only had about 5 when I saw it.
