Since when did Christians destroy records of Norse mythology? Never heard that before.
I love how the real life peoples of ancient Greece thought they had a personal connection with certain gods, like the Spartans being descended from Heracles, and they even acted upon those belifs. It makes it a whole lot more interesting for me.
Christians kept trying to convert Vikings to Christianity, which never really worked, and plus the Vikings would often loot and plunder churches. Eventually, when the Vikings converted, Christians forbade retelling of the stories. They survived mostly in manuscripts that portrayed the gods as kings or heroes so that they could fit into Christianity.
Loke Khan Torgou of Rhun wrote: Lots would win. Manwe would just raise his arm and Zeus would be dead.
For the record, I don´t think Manwe could do that, he never had those kinds of powers in the books.
PJ was doomed from the start, in all aspects. Even though Riordan made some good Greek mythology correct, a lot of it is thrown off, or interpreted incorrectly. Tolkien created his own lore, only some of it based off of real lore, and the stuff he based it off of was correct. On characters, there is a vast and diverse amount so great in Tolkien's lore that every Riordan book could not compete, even the ones with Rome. And this isn't even in strength, this is just character-wise and lore-wise.
Riordan just made all the gods look too stupid...God, did you see what he did to Odin? He made him kind, stupid, and very enthusiastic. Odin was, in reality, brilliant, dry, greedy, and pretty mean.

I liked Odin better when he was X, but that's Magnus Chase, not PJ
Not to mention if i recall, he spelled Tor as Thor, the marvel character not as Tor the Norse god, pronounced the same, sure, but still.
Um, Thor was never called Tor by anyone.
TRUE TOTALLY
