The Taurethrim Smith is a trading NPC who spawns in his smithy and with whom you can trade.

Behaviour[]

As with the Mod's other smiths, the Taurethrim smith will stay within his smithy most of the time and only attack evil players or NPC's when provoked. If this happens, he will use his blacksmith hammer to defend himself.

Trading[]

If you wish to trade with the blacksmith, you will need at least +50 Taurethrim alignment. Once you have that, he will sell you equipment and armour, as well as buy the raw materials needed to make these items, such as coal, bronze, and obsidian.

Upon trading with a Taurethrim smith, the player earns the achievement "Obsidian Forge".

Items Sold[]

Below is a table of values for each item that the player may purchase from this NPC. Use this table to find out if your smith is giving you a good deal or not. Each Taurethrim smith will not have every item listed for sale.

Smithing[]

Taurethrim smiths are skilled metalworkers, if not quite so skilled as the Dwarves. They provide a valuable service and are found in every Taurethrim village. They are able to reforge Coast Southron, Harnedor, Corsair, Gulfen, and Taurethrim armour and weapons. They can also reforge Morwaith swords.

Speechbank[]

Friendly

  • Our obsidian blades will pierce the flesh of any Lion-Man!
  • Welcome, Person. What would you like?
  • Do you seek a fierce blade, Person?
  • What can I get for you, Person, warrior of the jungle?
  • I hope you have enough silver, Person.
  • My goods aren't pricey, but they're not cheap either, Person.
  • The forge is hot today.
  • I will pay you well for a shard of obsidian.
  • Do you need some strong armour, my friend?
  • Deep within the earth flow mighty rivers of fire. And in the mountains, this fire bursts out upon the land.
  • The earth cools the heat of my forge.
  • There are great lodes of obsidian high in the mountains.
  • I craft mighty weapons from obsidian, but I am always in need of more...
  • Do you like to fight with something more stealthy? Go and talk to the shamans.
  • They say that in the days of the old empire, we fought with weapons coated in gold. Who would waste gold on such things?
  • Welcome, Person. Perhaps you have some obsidian to trade?

Neutral

  • You don't quite have my trust yet, Person. Come back another day!
  • I don't want your mangoes, Person.
  • Prove your friendship with our people, and then you may buy my weapons.
  • You look like trouble, Person.
  • I doubt you have enough money for my goods.
  • You don't look like one of us.
  • I bet you like banana bread, Person. Fool!
  • You are not a friend of my people, Person. Begone.
  • I doubt you are any better than those thieving Lion-Men, Person.
  • Mind yourself, Person. It is unwise to make enemies in this jungle.

Hostile

  • No more dealings with you, Person!
  • Thieves! Mongrels! Slaves of the Enemy! You are all dead in my eyes.
  • Grassland savage! You will get nothing but death from me!
  • How foolish of you to come here, Person!
  • The beasts of the jungles will tear you apart!
  • There is no hope for you now, Person!
  • What makes you think you deserve to wield my blades, Person?
  • The lion's roar is silent here!
  • Our warriors will crush you, savage!
  • I will not trade with a savage out of the plains!
  • Come and see the sharp end of my daggers!
  • You are unfit even to set eyes upon my forge!
  • Come closer, Person... if you dare!
  • You are lucky that I do not put a blade in you myself!
