Shire Pines grow in approximately the same pattern as the pines found throughout the rest of the temperate regions of Middle-Earth, and are tall and thin, with occasional stout branches sticking out from the trunk at right angles. The only difference between them and the normal pine tree is that the bark and leaves are a slightly darker colour, and that the wooden planks show conventional knot-holes, as opposed to the clear, straight grain of the normal pine.
Shire Pines grow to approximately 16-18 meters (50-60 feet) tall, making them a good source of wood.
Cutting down these trees will yield Shire pine wood, which can be crafted into planks, which can in turn be crafted into stairs, slabs, fences and various other wooden items. Breaking the leaves of this tree with fists will on occasion yield saplings. Breaking with shears will drop the leaf block, and has the same chance of dropping saplings.
