Pillars are a range of blocks that visually connect with one another when placed. As with most other stone-based blocks, you can also craft slabs out of pillars, using the standard vanilla Minecraft recipe.
Dwarven pillars Edit
Dwarven pillars are found in Dwarven structures (such as mines) and are also able to be crafted on the Dwarven crafting table or Blue Mountains crafting table using three stone blocks. There is also a cracked variant of the Dwarven pillars. Sarlluin pillars do not have a cracked variant. Sarlluin pillars are made from the sarlluin stone of the Blue Mountains and are only craftable on a vanilla crafting table.
Elven pillars Edit
There are 3 variants of elven pillars, which are found in various Elven structures and can be crafted from three stone blocks on the Galadhrim crafting table, the High Elven crafting table or the Wood-elven crafting table. There are also cracked variants of these found for example in the ruined turrets of Eregion.
Man made pillarsEdit
There are two types of Gondor pillars - white and black - which are made on the Gondorian crafting table. White pillars are made out of three Gondor rocks, while black pillars are made out of three Mordor rocks. There are two types of Near Harad pillars - white and red - which are made on the Near Harad crafting table using three white or red sandstone, respectively. Rohan pillars are made on a Rohirric crafting table using three Rohan rocks. Tauredain pillars are made on a Tauredain crafting table using three stone blocks. Dorwinion pillars are made on a Dorwinion crafting table using three chalk. Dalish pillars are made on a Dalish crafting table using three stone blocks. There are two types of Rhûnic pillars - normal and red - which are made on a Rhûnic crafting table using three stone blcoks for the normal pillars and three sarngaran blocks for the red pillars.
Orc made pillarsEdit
Angmar pillars are made on an Angmar crafting table using three stone blocks. Mordor pillars are made on a Morgul crafting table using three Mordor rocks. Utumno pillars (ice, obsidian and fire) can not be crafted, but found on different levels of the Utumno dimension.
Non Faction-specific pillars Edit
These pillars are all crafted on a vanilla crafting table using three blocks of the respective material.
The typical pillar crafting recipe is shown here (note that the materials and crafting table you use will depend on which type of pillar you wish to make). Pillars are crafted in batches of three. Most faction specific pillars are made of stone blocks (unless the name implies something else). As you should know from vanilla Minecraft, stone blocks can be obtained by smelting cobble stone in a furnace or a forge or by mining stone with a silk-touch pickaxe.
Three pillars can also be made into pillar slabs using the vanilla slab crafting recipe. The slabs do blend in with the blocks quite well, but they connect in a different way, producing horizontal stripes. This can be used to produce unobtrusive patterns dividing the pillars.
Some pillars can be turned a cracked variant. First craft regular pillars (see above). Then try to smelt them in a furnace or any type of forge. If this does not work, the cracked variant was not (yet) added to the Mod.
The cracked pillar slabs can now be made on the respective faction crafting table, using the normal Minecraft recipes. It is not possible, to first make a normal pillar slab and then crack it in a forge.
