“ | Far over the misty mountains cold to dungeons deep and caverns old we must away ere break of day to seek the pale enchanted gold. | ” |
–The Hobbit, An Unexpected Party |
Orc dungeons spawn in the same way as vanilla dungeons: underground. They can be found in certain biomes in Middle-Earth. Due to their very good loot, these dungeons can be beneficial to any player, regardless of their alignment; good-aligned players often use them as a means of rapidly obtaining alignment to an Orc-hating faction.
Interior
Every dungeon contains one or two chests. Prior to Beta 23, it used to contain an orc spawner, but it was removed to prevent exploitation. As of Beta 25, the chests were replaced by Stone Chests.
The chests contain all sorts of loot, including Orc draughts, ingots of varying metals, Orc armour, Orc weapons, arrows, maggoty bread, pouches, bones, skulls, Orc bombs, et cetera. There is also a chance to find items previously exclusively found in evil biomes (i.e. gulduril) in the chests, making it highly beneficial for a player wishing to make a Morgul blade, Morgul armour, or a Morgul portal without having to enter Mordor, Angmar or Dol Guldur.
