Christmas in Lorien

This 'Easter Egg' is one that only comes about at a very special time of the year. Christmas should not only be a holiday in real life, but also in Middle-Earth too! Most people are familiar with the vanilla retexturing of chests at Christmas into colorful presents. The Lord of The Rings Minecraft Mod also adds some Christmas surprises!

On Christmas day, players wake up to find that every human-like mob in the mod is wearing a bright red Leather Hat, or a party hat. The leather hat is of a bright red color that is different to a hat that has been dyed with ‘Rose Red’ dye, as it is much brighter. The leather hat is also adorned with a plain white feather. Every mob’s helmet has been replaced with this piece of apparel to celebrate Christmas! Some have the leather hats, others dyed party hats that vary in color. This has been present on Christmas since 2013.

Snowing in the desert? Only at Christmas!

It also will be snowing in almost every single environment for this day, so everybody can enjoy a White Christmas this year. After all, who doesn't love having some snow around to play in? If you wonder what to do, visit this page.

The Grey Wanderer will be walking around donning a red robe and red pointy hat and his beard looks like it caught a lot of snow flakes.

The Northern Lights (Celaid Feredrin in Sindarin) are also visible much further South than normal on this day, further even than on Yule in the in-game Shire Reckoning. During the Easter egg, the lights can be seen all the way to Equator, even in the Great Desert!

If you feel festive enough to put up a christmas tree, try a Fir tree. In fact, on christmas there is a chance for dropped fir saplings to be renamed to Christmas Tree.

On behalf of the Wiki Admin Team, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas! I’ll start it off; I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, see you in 2015!
