Berries are a food item that restore 2 (
) a piece, making them a rather ineffective food. However, they can be used as a decorative item on plates; for example; at your Hobbit picnic table or using the bushes to decorate your orchard or garden. In addition, as of Public Beta 22, these can be crafted into a pie and an assortment of drinks. As of Public Beta 29 there are also poisonous wildberries.
There are 6 different varieties: Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, elderberries, and wildberries. They can all be harvested from their respective bushes, giving around 2-5 berries and leaving a bare bush. Once the bush is bare, the berries can be re-grown using bonemeal, or by being left to grow back after a period of time. Read the article on the bushes for more information.
In everyday language, a berry is a small, pulpy and often edible fruit. Berries are usually juicy, rounded, brightly colored, sweet or sour, and do not have a stone or pit, although many pips or seeds may be present.
Sometimes, NPCs such as Rangers of the North will eat berries to heal themselves after combat.
